The Life Not My Own

Go Figure

So today as I was driving to Walmart, I started reflecting on how, just a few years ago, I'd never believe the changes that would happen in my life.

Who would've thought that the girl who never lived in a town of 60,000 would be living in a town of 3,000?

Who would've thought that the girl who lived in a neighborhood in her entire life would be living on a street with only four houses and a gravel driveway?

Who would've thought that the girl who loved a quick trip to Kohls to check out the clearance rack would be living somewhere where she had to drive over 2 hours to get to any semblance of a mall?

Who would've thought that the girl with her sporty black Equinox would be able to back a giant F350 into a space?

Who would've thought that the city girl would be learning every back road in this county?

Who would've thought that the girl who'd never even held a gun would be hitting targets with a 9mm and a 22?

Who would've thought that the west-coast girl would be pickin' up the southern twang and the area dialect (what on earth is "fixin" to do something?)

Who would've thought that the girl who hated public schools would love teaching in them so much?

Who would've thought that the girl who loved her family would be even so far away from home?

Ah, yes, who would've thought?
