I'm learning, though!Anonymoushttps://www.blogger.com/profile/03799289888353064932noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-6620987124172227999.post-33471541866414540312012-07-13T11:42:30.566-05:002012-07-13T11:42:30.566-05:00Thanks Kendra! I ...No, you are definitely NOT on your own in this. I am a terrible control freak.
In some ways it’s good, (for instance being really organised at work) but sometimes I’ll just catch myself acting a certain way with guests or something and just think ‘this really isn’t an attractive quality!’
I have to work hard to let my husband do his own thing and not criticise what he does but to be honest the chores I’m really controlling about I just do myself! He doesn’t really want to do them and it makes me happy to do them right. Like the commenter above says I find it really helpful to pray and just let things go...and sometimes I just have to walk away and not watch!

I used to work at a church and found it incredibly hard to let go when I saw people doing things that I thought I could do better. However I began to learn that people have to be given the freedom to make mistakes and learn what their gifts are. That’s really important.Rachelhttps://www.blogger.com/profile/12952827342114488909noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-6620987124172227999.post-45935709630254602172012-07-12T21:57:27.045-05:002012-07-12T21:57:27.045-05:00You really are not the only person feeling this wa...You really are not the only person feeling this way. No, I am not pregnant, but, I am a bit of a control freak as well. I CRINGE when my husband does the dishes. Yes, he is getting them cleaned, but for some reason in my mind...he isn't doing it the right way, if that makes sense. He is SUCH a great helper around the house, but I tend to follow him around and redo everything. It doesn't make me feel like a good wife when this happens. But, like your mom, she had to have things done a certain way, and that has rubbed off on me. What helps relax me? I pray and walk into another room. I ask God to relax me and give me guidance knowing my husband and other people are only trying to help. I prayed so hard when my in-laws were helping us pack. But, I know God has everything under control, and just with a simple prayer, I am relaxed. I do stay in another room just to make sure I don't get upset. :) Hope this helps a little. :)Anonymoushttps://www.blogger.com/profile/15399535953693965835noreply@blogger.com
